On the basis of development and experience resulting from the cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and development, the Slovak Republic initiated at the end of 2013 the creation of the so-called national path of financing the V1 NPP decommissioning from the European funds.

The National Radioactive Waste Repository is a multi-barrier surface type storage facility, the purpose of which is the final storage of solid and solidified low activity RAW from the operation and decommissioning of NPPs, or from research institutes, laboratories and hospitals, from all over the Slovak Republic.

JAVYS encompasses with its activities the whole spectrum of nuclear energetics. This includes the decommissioning of nuclear facilities, the providing of nuclear services in the field of processing and treatment, storage of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management, as well as the construction and operation of nuclear facilities.
