Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s. Bratislava (JAVYS) carries out activities in the area of the back end of the nuclear energy, including especially decommissioning of the nuclear power plants, radioactive material and spent nuclear fuel management.

Slovakia’s experience in the field of decommissioning of nuclear facilities and radioactive waste management has become part of an international training programme organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Representatives from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) visited company JAVYS on the 19th of March 2025. They were accompanied by representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from Vienna.

JAVYS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian state-owned company SOGIN, which is the national leader in the field of nuclear facilities decommissioning and radioactive waste management. Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s. during the night from 18 to 19 March 2014 successfully transported spent nuclear fuel from the nuclear power plant Mochovce to the Interim Spent Fuel Storage in Jaslovské Bohunice, which is owned and operated by JAVYS.

JAVYS and Westinghouse Electric Company LLC announced the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and thus created space for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and in the implementation of projects aimed at the development of small modular reactors (SMR).
